About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build features, maintain existing code, and fix bugs in JavaScript/TypeScript and React
  • Implement best practices to increase performance and scalability
  • Collaborate with backend and product teams to build optimized end-user experiences
  • Translate user stories, wireframes, and prototypes into functional, optimized UI components and applications
  • Collaborate with team members and peers to design complex applications
  • Peer review code and suggest optimizations
  • Explore new technologies and suggest additions to the existing technology stack
  • Investigate and help resolve production issues from the end-user UI to the service layer
  • Work to prevent recurring production issues
  • Work with project managers to ensure project deliverables are on time and high quality
  • Advocate for quality through innovation, curiosity, and thoughtful debate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or another technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in web application development or software engineering in a large enterprise environment using modern frameworks
  • Expertise in HTML & CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and React Library
  • Experience with Tailwindcss or SCSS
  • Experience with Node.js and Next.js or Express.js
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Vitest
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to deliver project tasks on time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Track record of championing quality engineering, including accessible and testable UI code
  • Understanding of browsers, devices, user agents, interoperability, and compatibility concerns
  • Experience working with high-performing teams using Agile and Lean methodologies and frameworks
  • Experience with SDLC tools such as Jira and Confluence, version control systems such as Git, and CI/CD tools and pipelines
  • Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high-quality results
