About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support critical streaming broadcast systems
  • Oversee and analyze audio/video transmissions across multiple data centers
  • Manage, monitor, and deliver live linear and live event broadcast streams within an IP-based transmission ecosystem
  • Perform quality control and corrective action to enhance products
  • Monitor event-based and linear acquisition signals and ensure they meet quality control standards
  • Adjust video, audio, and closed captions as required
  • Interact with internal departments and external partners to support live feed acquisition, monitoring, and distribution
  • Troubleshoot and resolve daily operational problems
  • Execute applicable SOPs and workflows for assigned transmission areas
  • Serve as a technical liaison to internal departments and external partners
  • Route and monitor multiple A/V feeds to and from facilities
  • Identify and resolve issues in a live production environment
  • Remotely configure hardware for live events and linear acquisition and distribution
  • Maintain knowledge of new technology and workflows
  • Contribute to operational analysis and problem-solving
  • Provide professional, courteous, and timely technical support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding of digital distribution equipment for broadcast transmission
  • Basic knowledge of IP-based transport, including HLS, RTMP, SRT, unicast, and multicast
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications
  • Modestly experienced technical contributor with good communication skills in a 24/7 technical environment
  • Ability to work a 24/7 schedule in a fast-paced, high-profile Technical Operations Center
  • Prior broadcasting experience, military experience within related fields, or similar transferable experience preferred
  • Understanding of signal flows, measurements, and procedures
  • Basic understanding of satellite, fiber, and IP-based transport
  • Basic understanding of streaming technology and workflows associated with ESPN+, Disney+, and Hulu Live
