About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day financial administration for Jobs Guarantee
- Maintain accurate records of programme expenditure, employer payments, grant claims and receipts
- Process financial information in line with Finance procedures and controls
- Maintain approvals, segregation of duties and supporting evidence
- Validate employer wage reimbursement and eligible onboarding cost claims
- Reconcile CRM records, employer information, bank transactions and supporting documentation
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Support DWP grant claims, cost recovery and subcontractor or delivery-partner evidence review
- Support forecasting, management reporting, monthly and quarterly reconciliations, accruals and debtor/creditor reconciliations
- Maintain audit-ready records and support internal, external and DWP financial assurance reviews
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Administration, Quality colleagues, employers and delivery partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience of finance administration, accounts support or a similar role
- Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail
- Confidence completing detailed reconciliations
- Good spreadsheet skills and confidence working with financial information
- Methodical and organised approach
- Ability to compare information across different systems and identify discrepancies
- Good record-keeping and understanding of audit trails
- Understanding of basic financial controls, approval processes and segregation of duties
- Ability to work accurately and manage competing deadlines
- Confidence following up queries with colleagues, employers and partners
- Ability to explain financial requirements clearly to non-finance colleagues
- Ability to understand the operational activity behind financial transactions
- Collaborative approach and willingness to work across the programme while maintaining clear Finance responsibilities
- Curiosity and persistence when something does not look right
- Experience of grant funding, contract claims, employer wage reimbursements or working within an audited environment would be particularly useful, but is not essential
