About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide tailored advice on energy efficiency, renewable energy and low-carbon technologies through home visits and remote support
  • Help customers understand their options and make informed decisions about their homes
  • Translate complex technical information into clear, practical advice and recommendations
  • Build positive relationships with customers, colleagues, partners and stakeholders
  • Support and mentor colleagues across the Home Energy Scotland Advice Team
  • Keep technical knowledge current
  • Contribute ideas that improve customer experience and service quality
  • Visit customers to assess whether heat pumps are suitable for their homes
  • Prepare recommendations
  • Support colleagues with technical queries

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant knowledge and experience of energy efficiency, renewable energy and low-carbon technologies
  • A degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good relationship-building, customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Confidence using technology and working independently as part of a wider team
  • Willingness to continue learning and developing technical expertise
  • City & Guilds Energy Awareness Level 3 required
  • City & Guilds Renewable Energy in the Home, or equivalent, required
  • Domestic Energy Assessor qualification required
  • Successful completion of the required qualifications is a requirement of the role
  • Full driving licence and daily access to a car essential; applications from licence holders without current car access will be considered
