About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Set Xint's technical content agenda and develop original research on application security, vulnerability classes and AI-assisted offensive security
  • Conduct research independently or with Theori's researchers from hypothesis through findings and publication
  • Turn research into write-ups, tools, datasets and reproducible proof-of-concepts
  • Write technical deep dives on vulnerabilities, covering root cause, exploit path and remediation
  • Create written and video tutorials, quick-start guides, demo environments and sample projects
  • Own the annual CFP calendar and submit talks and papers to security conferences including Black Hat, DEF CON, OWASP Global AppSec and BSides
  • Represent Xint on stage, on panels and on podcasts
  • Host Xint's monthly webinar end to end, including agenda setting, guest booking, session delivery and recording repurposing
  • Engage practitioners in Reddit, Discord and other security communities
  • Bring practitioner feedback to product and research teams
  • Maintain Xint's public vulnerability tracker with research on disclosure timing
  • Work closely with the research team, product and marketing

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years in technical marketing, developer relations or developer advocacy, ideally for security or developer tools
  • A public portfolio of technical blogs, how-to videos, tutorials and quick-start documentation you wrote and produced
  • Hands-on security knowledge: ability to read code, explain vulnerabilities such as injection, auth bypass, SSRF or deserialization, and reproduce an exploit path
  • A record of conference talks, accepted CFPs or published research
  • Comfort on camera and on stage, including hosting live sessions with guests
  • Credibility in practitioner communities, with an authentic, non-promotional style of engagement
  • Clear, precise writing that treats practitioners as peers
  • BS in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Deep application security or penetration testing experience, such as work as a pen tester, AppSec engineer or bug bounty hunter
  • CVEs, bug bounty findings or CTF results
  • Security certifications such as OSCP, OSWE or GWAPT
  • Experience with SAST, DAST or penetration-testing workflows and tooling
  • Working knowledge of how LLMs are applied to security analysis
