About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell and support all Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division products
  • Maintain effective, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Develop strategic account growth opportunities
  • Serve as the primary account contact and provide sales expertise
  • Identify and prioritize new client opportunities
  • Develop solution implementation and account growth strategies
  • Increase share of wallet within existing accounts
  • Lead account relationships to drive expansion and renewals across analytical instruments, consumables and services
  • Provide product assistance, consultation and problem solving, and expedite orders
  • Identify and confirm the best technology choices for customer needs
  • Provide quotations, negotiate contracts and close orders with end users and purchasing departments
  • Support procurement processes
  • Apply data and metrics to develop and report account strategies and tactics
  • Develop territory sales strategies and maintain a pipeline to meet or exceed quarterly sales objectives
  • Use Thermo Fisher Scientific sales tools to manage accounts, opportunities, pipelines and forecasts
  • Monitor competitor and industry activity and introduce new products and services
  • Coordinate with technical sales, field application, lab application and IES specialists
  • Attend and run technical business presentations, trade shows, user meetings and customer events
  • Exchange account information and sales leads across commercial divisions
  • Analyze sales data, market trends, customer behavior and financial metrics to create projections and revenue forecasts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of validated sales experience preferred in analytical instrument markets, with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Bachelor’s degree in the sciences or equivalent work experience
  • Strong market knowledge and professional network
  • Experience conducting on-site customer seminars and technical presentations
  • Commercial mentality and strong motivation to win new business
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English and Spanish as needed in the assigned region
  • Confirmed commercial excellence working in a matrix environment
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and CRM
  • Ability to explain and sell the technical aspects of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s scientific product portfolio
  • Ability to travel to customer locations up to 80%, including overnight travel
