About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform customer installations, repairs and preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments in the assigned Southeast territory
  • Provide onsite instrument installations, upgrades, updates, repairs and planned maintenance services
  • Interact professionally with customers to solve technical problems and identify opportunities to improve their work
  • Achieve specified revenue targets while satisfying customers through instrument repairs, installations and preventative maintenance
  • Offer and close sales of service contracts and other service products
  • Collaborate with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes
  • Complete Remote Service Dispatch, Escalation, Field Problem Report and Field Service Report submissions
  • Manage spare parts ordering, usage, returns, physical counts and car stock
  • Execute Qualification and Validation products at customer sites
  • Maintain technical competency through training, staff meetings and staying current on products, markets, customers and competitors
  • Manage travel expenses and follow company travel policies and guidelines
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering, biology, chemistry or related field, or equivalent work experience and knowledge
  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in a related science, engineering and/or customer-facing role
  • Effective questioning to identify customer needs
  • Ability to exercise judgment in setting work priorities and identifying next steps
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight
  • Positive influence on the team
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change with positive and constructive feedback
  • Experience in a clinical, diagnostics and/or other regulated environment preferred
  • Aptitude for learning and understanding IT systems and processes preferred
  • Experience in related product applications preferred
  • Able to lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Must be able to work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials
  • Must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts
  • Frequent travel to customer sites, ranging from 25–75% of work time
