About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Increase revenue and build lasting relationships with customers while representing Thermo Fisher Scientific's scientific products and services
- Drive sales growth and manage key academic, government, and industrial accounts within the assigned territory
- Expand existing business, develop new opportunities, and achieve sales targets
- Conduct strategic account engagement, prospecting, cold calls, and participate in scientific events
- Execute sales strategies including prospecting, qualification, value-based selling, and closing
- Position solutions using product, application, and workflow knowledge; deliver technical presentations and demonstrations
- Manage sales opportunities through pipeline management, forecasting, next steps, and close plans
- Maintain customer relationships and engage key stakeholders across accounts
- Participate in sales meetings, seminars, and trade shows
- Collaborate with internal teams and channel partners
- Generate demand through office hours, 1:1 meetings, hall walking, business reviews, and scientific seminars
- Create scientific intimacy with academic labs and take market share from competitors
- Maintain territory performance through funnel management, account planning, and KPI metrics
- Routinely update Salesforce CRM for accurate forecasting, pipeline health, and business-performance visibility
- Prepare quarterly account and territory plans, including mitigation plans to close gaps
- Share market insights, competitive intelligence, and best practices with internal stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Biology; advanced degree preferred
- 8 years plus experience with a mix of wet lab bench experience and life science sales experience
- Strong technical understanding of customer applications and workflows
- Experience working in a matrixed, collaborative environment
- Analytical and strategic planning capabilities
- Fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial
- Strong business acumen with ability to translate data into actionable sales strategies
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, and Microsoft Office
- Strong understanding of sales funnel management and forecasting
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25–30% within assigned territory
- Able to lift 50 lbs. independently
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
