About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Sell and support Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) software, instruments and consumables
  • Drive sustained revenue growth across assigned product lines and territory
  • Identify and prioritize new client opportunities and coordinate market-penetration actions
  • Support Account Managers in uncovering opportunities and executing sales strategies
  • Develop trusted relationships with major decision makers and act as a technical advisor
  • Manage the sales process from prospecting through closing
  • Share customer feedback with the Business Unit
  • Attend technical visits to Business Unit, manufacturing, R&D sites and demonstration centers
  • Support new product introduction prospects to improve adoption and revenue
  • Lead sales-funnel and forecast activities with country leads and sales teams
  • Use Thermo Fisher Scientific sales tools to manage accounts, opportunities, pipelines and forecasts
  • Monitor competitor and industry activity and introduce new products and services
  • Develop relationships with key opinion leaders and scientific leaders
  • Represent CMD at seminars and customer workshops
  • Exchange account information and sales leads across commercial divisions
  • Collaborate with internal resources in a team-selling environment
  • Mentor, lead and motivate the account-management team
  • Coordinate with sales, field application, lab application and IES specialists
  • Maintain expertise in assigned software, including chromatography data systems and laboratory workflows
  • Position software capabilities within customers’ analytical and digital environments
  • Train country sales teams on selling and positioning assigned product lines
  • Maintain technical knowledge and represent Thermo Fisher Scientific positively at customer locations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of sales experience in the analytical/relevant instrument market and running complex, high-value accounts
  • Bachelor’s degree in science required
  • Master’s degree in science preferred
  • Strong market knowledge and business insight of industry sector, markets and key trends preferred
  • Experience with chromatography data systems (CDS) and laboratory informatics software
  • Familiarity with Thermo Scientific™ Chromeleon™ Chromatography Data System (CDS) or comparable platforms highly desirable
  • Experience conducting seminars and presentations
  • Commercial mentality and demonstrated pursuit of new-business opportunities
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English and other languages as needed in the assigned region
  • Demonstrated commercial excellence working in a matrix environment
  • Ability to explain and sell technical aspects of scientific product portfolios
  • Ability to travel to customer locations up to 80%, including overnight travel
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
