About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive strategic and measurable business outcomes for the PPD clinical research business
Provide high-quality input into significant requests for proposals, including development strategy, regulatory issues, drug class issues, protocol and indication considerations, safety, team education, client physician interactions, and identifying business opportunities
Engage proactively with therapeutic area leaders and senior directors of pharmaceutical companies
Support strategic alliance development, client governance, and advisory boards
Provide product development plans and top-level clinical trial protocol designs through PPD’s consulting practice
Provide therapeutic and developmental expertise to internal clinical teams
Deliver indication-specific training for clinical teams
Provide guidance during clinical trial execution
Author and review Investigator Brochures, clinical study reports, NDA/MAA clinical packages, and regulatory briefing documents
Contribute to feasibility study design and reporting
Liaise with investigators and key opinion leaders
Mentor and supervise clinical scientists
Participate in multidisciplinary teams and working groups on innovative initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need

MD required
Board certification preferred (Cardiology)
At least 7 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry leading cardiovascular clinical development programs
Experience advancing at least one asset from discovery through registration
Active medical license preferred but not required
Able to work in a matrix organization
Able to demonstrate decisive, customer driven, flexible thinking, smart-risk taking and continuous improvement behaviors
Leads, influences and motivates staff within and across departments
Strong in presenting and communicating complex information clearly
Able to deal with sensitive and confidential issues
Possesses a “can do” attitude and is capable of implementing and following through on activities / projects
Proficient in spoken and written English
Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally
