About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own day-to-day bookkeeping for ThetaRay's Israeli, UK and US entities in NetSuite
- Run the monthly payroll cycle for all four entities: Israel, UK, US and Spain
- Process vendor invoices, maintain vendor master data, reconcile vendor statements and communicate with vendors
- Prepare semi-monthly payment runs and verify purchase orders and approvals in Zip
- Handle payments to tax authorities, including VAT, withholding tax and National Insurance
- Sync and code Mesh corporate-card transactions and receipts
- Perform bank reconciliations for all entities and currencies and support weekly cash-flow forecasting
- Manage monthly close activities, including accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany balances and recurring journal entries
- Maintain UK and US books in NetSuite and act as day-to-day contact for external accountants
- Prepare schedules and supporting documents for annual audits
- Agree payroll cut-offs with HR, collect payroll inputs and build monthly payroll master files per entity
- Process Israeli payroll in Hashavim, calculate and claim reserve-duty payments, and prepare final settlements and Form 161
- Send payroll inputs to UK, US and Spain providers, upload Spain payroll and check results
- Set up payroll, pension and insurance for joiners and leavers with HR and external agents
- Monitor Israeli payroll rates and legislation and answer employee payslip questions
- Use AI tools and help design and maintain AI agents that automate recurring checks
- Handle ad hoc finance projects and requests from the Finance Manager and VP Finance
- Report to the Finance Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4+ years of experience as a bookkeeper and payroll accountant, preferably in a high-tech company
- Hands-on Israeli payroll experience with Hashavim or Hilan payroll software
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite — must
- Experience with Mesh and Dokka — must
- Experience with multiple entities and multiple currencies, including foreign subsidiaries
- Strong knowledge of Israeli VAT, withholding tax, National Insurance and payroll regulations, including pension, recuperation pay, reserve duty and final settlements
- Advanced Excel, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and SUMIFS
- Fluent English, written and spoken
- Able to work autonomously and own processes end to end
- Highly organized and accurate; able to meet close and payroll deadlines
- High level of discretion with confidential salary data
- Practical experience with AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or Copilot
- Experience building or maintaining AI agents or automated workflows
- Experience managing international payroll through outsourced providers
- Certified payroll accountant
- Experience with Zip, HiBob and Navan
- Experience working with external accounting firms abroad
