About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as liaison between customers and the financial institution
  • Help qualified applicants acquire loans in a timely manner
  • Evaluate credit worthiness by processing loan applications and documentation within specified limits
  • Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans
  • Determine applicable ratios and metrics and set up debt payment plans
  • Communicate with clients to request or provide information
  • Justify approval or rejection decisions and report on them
  • Complete loan contracts and counsel clients on policies and restrictions
  • Update job knowledge on types of loans and other financial services
  • Assess customer needs, explore options, and introduce different types of loans
  • Operate in compliance with laws and regulations and adhere to lending compliance guidelines
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • No supervisory responsibilities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5-years’ experience as a loan originator
  • High School Graduate
  • Ability to evaluate credit worthiness by processing loan applications and documentation
  • Ability to interview applicants and determine financial eligibility and loan feasibility
  • Knowledge of applicable ratios, metrics, debt payment plans, loan contracts, policies, restrictions, laws, regulations, and lending compliance guidelines
  • Ability to use office equipment including computers, phones, copy and fax machines, calculators, filing cabinets, and printers
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform writing, typing, speaking, listening, driving, carrying, seeing, sitting, pulling, walking, standing, and reaching
  • Ability to perform detailed work, problem solving, customer contact, reasoning, math, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, and manage multiple concurrent tasks and constant interruptions
