About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Produce accurate headlines and concise news stories on companies, economic developments and financial markets
  • Monitor company disclosures, conference calls, webcasts and other information channels to identify and verify newsworthy developments

  • Report on economic indicators and corporate developments focused on Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary
  • Apply Reuters Trust Principles and newsroom standards to ensure accuracy, speed, fairness and freedom from bias
  • Interpret source materials quickly and translate relevant developments into clear, market-focused news coverage
  • Deliver reporting for Reuters platforms and the Workspace terminal to inform traders, hedge funds, asset managers and other financial professionals

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Polish
  • Strong command of grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Comfort with handling financial data and facts accurately and quickly
  • Ability to write with speed, clarity, accuracy and freedom from bias
  • Strong news judgment and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • Willingness to undertake shifts
  • Understanding of corporate activity, stock markets, macroeconomic indicators and financial terminology, or ability to gain such knowledge quickly
  • Experience covering companies, financial markets, economics or business news
  • Proficiency in Czech, Romanian, Slovak or Hungarian would be an asset
