About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Research, interpret, and document tax statutes, regulations, legislative activity, court decisions, and notices for assigned jurisdictions
  • Assess how tax changes and proposed developments affect ONESOURCE software products
  • Resolve conflicting or incomplete tax guidance by drafting clarification requests to tax authorities and recommending defensible interim approaches
  • Lead tax content implementation by scoping changes, writing detailed specifications, and coordinating cross-functional handoffs
  • Model and validate complex calculations and corner cases
  • Ensure tax content aligns with data models and the user interface
  • Translate regulatory requirements into testable requirements and user stories
  • Implement requirements into ONESOURCE Indirect Tax Determination
  • Use tax research platforms and AI-enabled tools and validate their outputs
  • Serve as subject matter expert and project point person for the Tax Research & Content team
  • Advise non-tax colleagues and support Customer Support with client inquiries
  • Manage deliverables, flag risks, identify process improvements, and train and mentor Associates and Analysts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, or Finance (or a JD, LLM, MBA, or CPA/Chartered Tax Adviser)
  • Significant hands-on experience developing tax-related content, such as US sales and use tax
  • Strong ability to research, analyze, and interpret tax laws, regulations, and court decisions
  • Experience translating complex regulatory requirements into clear, testable specifications
  • Proficiency with tax software and research platforms, such as Checkpoint and Westlaw
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills, including modeling and validating complex calculations
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain difficult tax concepts to non-tax audiences
  • Ability to work independently, adopt new tools including AI-enabled features quickly, and adapt to shifting priorities
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment in Gdansk, Poland
  • Legally authorized to work in Poland
  • Preferred: experience working for a public accounting firm or corporate tax department
  • Preferred: fluency in languages other than English
  • Preferred: advanced credentials such as a JD, LLM, MBA, CPA, or Chartered Tax Adviser
  • Preferred: experience with UAT processes in a software or technology environment
  • Preferred: experience drafting correspondence to tax authorities on complex or ambiguous matters
  • Preferred: experience with indirect tax across multiple jurisdictions or international markets
  • Preferred: experience training or mentoring junior colleagues and developing training materials
