About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead a geographic area focused on growing new advisors, future team leaders, and enabling practices
- Partner with Centers of Excellence for Advisor Growth, Practice Growth, and Advice Adoption
- Drive productive capacity growth by attracting, selecting, onboarding, and launching talent
- Grow experienced practices' advisor capacity and ability to serve clients
- Drive total sales and area growth goals
- Build brand awareness, expand the client base, and establish Thrivent as a trusted local leader
- Lead 5–10 field leaders and 50–100 Financial Advisors serving 100,000 clients
- Execute advice adoption, solutions, and sales across the assigned geographic area
- Monitor KPIs, financial metrics, and operational benchmarks
- Connect matrixed partners to grow diverse advisor and client segments
- Attract and launch talent through market leaders
- Encourage experienced advisors to grow practices and teams
- Collaborate across Thrivent's ecosystem, National Practice Group, advisor continuum, and channels
- Inspire Thrivent's purpose, promise, principles, and values
- Manage market directors and developers assigned to the area
- Establish a culture of continuous improvement, workforce engagement, accountability, innovation, and client commitment
- Develop capacity growth plans and hold field leaders accountable through weekly sessions and coaching
- Partner on recruiting, licensing, training, advisor placement, and advice adoption
- Ensure strong insurance, investment, and advice-aligned solutions are recommended
- Support practices with role definition, talent needs, candidate selection, and capacity growth
- Leverage experienced and advanced National Practice Group practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- College degree required; MBA and/or other related advanced education preferred
- 5+ years leading in the financial services industry
- Strong leadership skills and potential to move to a greater leadership role
- Proven track record of achieving capacity and sales growth and delivering results to business plans
- Vision, strategic leadership, and strong influencing abilities
- Experience leading through change and leveraging systems to engage people and drive results
- Track record of attracting, selecting, and developing Financial Advisors
- In-depth knowledge of advice, insurance products, asset/wealth management, fee-based planning, mutual funds, and securities
- FINRA Series 7, 63/65 or 66 required or obtained within 90 days; Series 24 preferred
- State securities registered and insurance licensed and appointed in all states comprising the Advisor Group
- Satisfactory background check and clean compliance record
- Ability to represent Thrivent to clients, lodges, and communities
- Ability to travel as needed
- Insurable under applicable fidelity bond and errors and omissions coverage
- Satisfactory Form U-4 disclosures
- Physically work in the designated Area 85% of the time
