Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead research coverage across the Industrials sector and deliver differentiated, actionable insights
  • Produce defendable buy and sell recommendations supported by rigorous analysis and proprietary research
  • Generate proprietary insights through fieldwork, management and expert interviews, channel checks, and site visits
  • Formulate investment research with clear implications for portfolio positioning
  • Document attribution and lessons learned linking research output to portfolio impact
  • Develop and maintain thesis-driven financial models and data-driven frameworks
  • Assess market expectations, sentiment, positioning, fundamentals, and industry drivers
  • Challenge consensus views and apply disciplined judgment to manage behavioral biases and investment risk
  • Mentor analysts and provide coaching and actionable feedback
  • Lead strategic conversations with analysts and portfolio managers
  • Educate colleagues on sector-specific investment processes and share expertise
  • Secure stakeholder buy-in and influence investment decisions and capital allocation
  • Lead presentations and facilitate discussions with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Drive process improvements to enhance research workflow resilience, scalability, and efficiency
  • Establish processes for canvassing the assigned universe and influencing the pipeline of new investment ideas

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant investment professional experience sufficient to perform independent work
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field, plus a Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • Alternative: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline plus a minimum of 15 years of successful investment professional experience
  • Expert understanding of an investment research process and recognized thought leadership in the Industrials sector
  • Ability and eagerness to work effectively in a team environment
  • High level of intellectual curiosity and continuous learning approach
  • Advanced modeling and valuation fluency, including DCF, comps, and multiples
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with Python, Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar tools
  • Strong time management, attention to detail, and prioritization skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines
  • High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
