Key responsibilities & impact

Design and build interfaces for business teams to configure agents, review agent work, approve or correct actions, and understand outcomes
Build observability and evaluation tooling to make agent behavior legible, including successes, failures, and impact of changes
Work across the stack from React and TypeScript through service code and data models
Own features end to end through build, test, launch, monitoring, and iteration
Partner directly with business teams to translate ambiguous operational problems into working software
Own the full lifecycle of work, including post-launch improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong frontend skills with React and TypeScript
Experience with complex application state and data-dense interfaces
Solid backend engineering ability
Ability to work with or learn Go, PHP, and Python
Working knowledge of relational and non-relational data stores, including Postgres and DynamoDB or similar
Product judgment to determine what to build and what to cut
Interest in non-deterministic systems, uncertainty, partial failure, and human correction
Ability to navigate ambiguity, close knowledge gaps, and deliver in an evolving environment
Must be able to work from an eligible location supported by Thumbtack's remote-work policy
Must answer whether employment visa sponsorship will be required now or in the future
