About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build, support and scale Thumbtack’s internal systems
- Handle inbound IT Infrastructure requests from the business
- Triage and handle escalations from the IT Support team
- Administer Okta, Google Workspace, Atlassian, Slack, Claude, GitHub and other key tools
- Implement and maintain integrations with other platforms and tools
- Troubleshoot complex technical problems and document processes
- Scope and implement SSO and other integrations
- Configure SaaS tools and use automation to improve inefficient business processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on systems design, automation and AI tools
- Manage data, security and legal governance processes
- Maintain compliance with security standards, including least-privilege access, patching, two-factor authentication and VPN
- Monitor system health and troubleshoot advanced issues
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical components and changes
- Drive and contribute to technology projects focused on business value
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5+ years of IT systems engineering experience in a distributed, enterprise IT environment
- Proven track record administering Okta, Google Workspace, Atlassian, GitHub, Claude and Slack
- Experience managing infrastructure as code using tools like Terraform or GitOps
- AI-first mentality, including enabling tools like Claude and ChatGPT for colleagues and using them in workflows
- Proficiency building automations using Okta Workflows, Jira Automations and Slack Workflows
- Excellent working knowledge of identity access management systems, services and protocols: SAML, SCIM, LDAP, OAuth2.0/OIDC
- Some proficiency in scripting languages, including Python (preferred) and Shell
- Understanding of security and compliance methodologies and practices
- Experience with security incident response processes and tools
