About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop technical Voice & Signalling projects, ensuring adequate platform capacity and network evolution
- Assess projects for technical, financial, architectural, and environmental feasibility
- Develop adaptation, expansion, modernization, and evolution projects for Voice Core and Signalling Core platforms
- Prepare technical specifications for RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs, and evaluate technical proposals and reports
- Operationalize project handover to Operations, supporting deployment, integration, testing, and activation
- Evaluate market solutions for technological and architectural network evolution, optimizing quality, capacity, resilience, and costs
- Monitor capacity, quality, budget, planning, and control KPIs
- Support budget definition and review, and monitor investments in the platforms under responsibility
- Design and evolve IMS Core, SIP Signalling, SBC, VoLTE, VoWiFi, Interconnection, STP, DRA, and related technologies
- Support modernization and technological transformation projects, including IMS evolution, 5G signalling, virtualization, and replacement of legacy platforms
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for voice and interconnection, including call authentication, fraud prevention, anti-spoofing, and lawful interception
- Complete assigned training and keep the learning plan up to date
- Identify, report, and escalate incidents with potential environmental impact, and ensure corrective actions are taken
- Work cross-functionally with Operations, Deployment, NFVi, Core Network, Cyber Security, IT, and business teams
- Technically coordinate testing, qualification, acceptance, upgrades, hardening, and validation of new functionalities
- Propose innovations involving virtualization, Cloud, automation, AI, and operational efficiency
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field in Information Technology and Telecommunications
- Postgraduate degree or specialization in a related field is desirable but not required
- Mandatory knowledge of telecommunications networks and Voice Core architecture, including IMS Core
- Mandatory knowledge of SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
- Mandatory knowledge of Session Border Controllers (SBCs)
- Mandatory knowledge of VoLTE and VoWiFi
- Knowledge of interconnection and voice traffic
- Knowledge of signalling networks and platforms
- Mandatory knowledge of Network Function Virtualization, NFVi environments, and Cloud Engineering
- Knowledge of security applied to telecommunications networks
- Knowledge of automation and open-source programming languages
- Knowledge of project management
- Knowledge of budget and financial management
- Knowledge of regulations applicable to telecommunications services
- Knowledge of data engineering and analysis
- Experience in the architecture, development, deployment, and evolution of Voice & Signalling solutions
- Experience with technology transformation projects in the telecommunications industry, including solution qualification, vendor management, application of regulatory requirements, and technical leadership of strategic initiatives
- Experience in productivity improvement initiatives using AI is a plus
