About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide primary emotional support to students and faculty/staff members through TalkNow
- Deliver remote, on-demand telehealth services for the higher education student population
- Spend approximately 20 minutes with each client plus 10 minutes for documentation, with sessions no longer than 30 minutes total
- Use active listening and evidence-based modalities to build rapport, collaborate, support, and advance client care
- Maintain professional conduct with students, members, peers, and support staff
- Remain calm and adapt to changing member needs
- Assess, triage, and document sessions involving potential crisis, self-harm, or suicidal ideation
- Respond to members in crisis with professionalism, support, empathy, and cultural humility
- Work scheduled Saturday and Sunday shifts totaling 20 hours
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of a Master's Degree (M.A./M.S.) in Psychology, Professional Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage & Family Therapy
- Provisional or Associate License is REQUIRED
- Fully Licensed Mental Health Practitioner is a plus
- Strong clinical writing, assessment, and active listening skills
- Experience with crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Experience providing therapeutic services to young adults, adolescents, at-risk populations, community mental health, crisis support, or college counseling
- Maintain own internet with approved speed requirements
- HIPAA-compliant workspace free from distractions
- Successful completion of credentialing, onboarding, and training programs
- Adherence to HIPAA and compliance standards and required policies/procedures
- Valid U.S. work authorization; sponsorship unavailable
