About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze business unit needs to mitigate integration and major subcontracting supply and delivery risk, recommend appropriate solutions, and implement as approved
- Develop and recommend optimal integration and major subcontracting supplier selection criteria
- Manage qualifications and performance evaluation of integrators and major subcontractors
- Lead development, revision control, and storage of standard specifications for procurement of integration and subcontracting services with BU engineering
- Negotiate standard integration pricing matrices and lead times with suppliers annually or more often
- Negotiate non-standard integration pricing and communicate with BU personnel
- Identify and recommend integration and subcontracting service providers based on quality, cost, and delivery
- Identify savings opportunities and drive continuous cost reduction through standard integration design
- Design, develop, and implement an opportunity-tracking tool
- Track non-conformance reports and cost of quality, and lead supplier recovery activities
- Resolve damage claims for integrator parts
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams, parent company resources, and suppliers for successful integration scope execution
- Recommend and implement risk assessment and abatement plans to meet budgets, targets, and schedules
- Serve as point of contact for BU personnel, integrators, and subcontractors regarding pre-order commitments and post-order deliverables
- Provide management updates on supplier performance, integration processes, market trends, project status, and relationships
- Recommend improvements to project execution processes involving major equipment suppliers
- Track and report integrator and subcontractor milestones to project management
- Evaluate shipment and delivery dates with the Project Manager and communicate requirements to sourcing personnel
- Lead assigned process components of first article inspections and client witness acceptance tests
- Maintain current safety qualifications for assigned tasks
- Comply with company policies, procedures, regulations, and laws; collaborate with peers and cross-organizational teams; recommend improvements; and use business tools effectively
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Electronics, or related field or equivalent via education and/or work experience
- 3 years’ experience in mechanical integration of AC and DC power control systems or equivalent equipment
- 3 years’ experience qualifying major sub-contractors
- 3 years’ project management experience in a technical environment
- 2 years’ experience participating in sales transaction process for equipment and/or services
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply knowledge of contract deliverables, terms and conditions, and guarantees
- Demonstrated success developing, implementing, measuring, and improving effective processes in functional areas
- Demonstrated successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts
- Demonstrated successful and positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills
- Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Availability to travel, domestically, up to 50%, and internationally, up to 10%, sometimes with limited notice
- Preferred: Demonstrated success leading matrix teams
- Preferred: 5 years of project management experience, including capital and/or construction contracts in excess of $1M per contract
- Preferred: 5 years of experience in contract negotiation for industrial equipment and services transactions
- Preferred: Working knowledge of Oracle, Oracle Business Intelligence tools
