About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design and implement Android system applications in Java or Kotlin for Toast's device management suite
  • Implement device policy enforcement, out-of-box device setup, and firmware and app updates
  • Build reliable background services requiring little to no user interaction
  • Support new Toast hardware bring-up and OS upgrades
  • Expand automated testing with Robot Framework against real Toast hardware
  • Investigate and debug production issues across Toast's device fleet
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Hardware, QA, and Software teams
  • Make technical decisions focused on software quality, security, and maintainability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of Android application development experience
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in Java or Kotlin
  • Experience with Android architecture patterns and libraries such as Hilt, AndroidX libraries, and Kotlin Coroutines
  • Experience triaging issues with adb and logcat
  • Proficiency with Git, Gerrit, or GitHub
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model according to regional in-office expectations
