About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Edit and review AAC content for cultural accuracy, language/grammar use, and regional relevance
- Adapt phrasing, vocabulary, and content to local usage norms and real-life communication needs
- Provide expert review and insights from the target regional AAC community perspective
- Collaborate with an internal AAC Content Developer during the core project phase
- Ensure alignment with the established evidence-based language approach
- Deliver timely feedback and edits during weekly remote review cycles
- Work across time zones with the international AAC development team
Requirements
What you’ll need- Substantial experience in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
- AAC Specialist, or professional background in Speech-Language Pathology, Education, or Occupational Therapy
- Native speaker of Haitian Creole, with substantial residence in the target region, preferably including school years
- Fluent written proficiency in Haitian Creole
- Fluency in English
- Reliable communication habits and responsiveness via email
- Academic or applied background in Linguistics preferred
- Availability for up to 50 hours over an 8-week period
- Around 15 hours per week during the first three weeks
- Availability for two fixed weekly sessions with a dedicated AAC Content Developer during the first three weeks
- Independent contractor responsible for managing own taxes
