About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Edit and review AAC content for cultural accuracy, language/grammar use, and regional relevance
  • Adapt phrasing, vocabulary, and content to reflect local usage norms and real-life communication needs
  • Provide expert review and insights from the perspective of the target regional AAC community
  • Collaborate closely with an internal AAC Content Developer during the core project phase
  • Ensure alignment with the established evidence-based language approach
  • Deliver timely feedback and edits during weekly remote review cycles
  • Participate in two fixed weekly sessions with a dedicated AAC Content Developer during the first three weeks
  • Work up to 50 hours over an 8-week project, with around 15 hours per week during the first three weeks and flexible ad hoc hours thereafter

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Substantial experience in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
  • AAC Specialist, or professional background in Speech-Language Pathology, Education, or Occupational Therapy
  • Native speaker of Traditional Chinese - Mandarin, with substantial residence in the target region (preferably including school years)
  • Fluent written proficiency in Traditional Chinese - Mandarin
  • Fluency in English
  • Reliable communication habits and responsiveness via email
  • Academic or applied background in Linguistics preferred
  • Resume or CV
  • Brief statement outlining motivation and experience with AAC
