About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Translate business needs for Auto Insurance products into executable system rules
  • Ensure the implementation, maintenance, approval, and enhancement of pricing, underwriting, and quoting rules in the company’s calculation engines
  • Receive, analyze, and organize requests from the Auto Product team, assessing their technical and business impacts
  • Program and deploy business rules, underwriting rules, campaigns, and parameter configurations in the Blaze calculation engine
  • Conduct approvals, tests, and implementation validations
  • Assess the impacts of implemented changes, contributing to the quality of the quoting process
  • Perform corrective and evolutionary maintenance of existing rules
  • Collaborate with requesting teams to understand and clarify rules and refine requirements
  • Understand the characteristics, coverages, and impacts of parameter configurations for auto insurance products
  • Support Auto product enhancement projects, including new coverages, acceptance rules, campaigns, rate adjustments, and integrations with data sources
  • Work collaboratively with the Product, Pricing, Technology, and Data teams

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently pursuing or completed a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming languages (Blaze, Java, or similar)
  • Basic knowledge of database querying or data manipulation
  • Preferred: Knowledge of rules engines, system parameterization, or decision platforms (e.g., Blaze Advisor)
  • Preferred: Knowledge of SAS
  • Preferred: Knowledge of insurance products, especially Auto Insurance
  • Preferred: Experience with system testing, approval, or validation
