About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist in designing, developing, and implementing automation and control systems for manufacturing and industrial processes
  • Program, troubleshoot, and modify PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems
  • Support electrical and control system design, including wiring diagrams, schematics, and control panel layouts
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on system testing, debugging, and validation
  • Troubleshoot control system issues to minimize equipment downtime
  • Work with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to improve automation processes
  • Document control system changes, software configurations, and maintenance procedures
  • Follow applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines
  • Support field commissioning, system installations, and maintenance activities as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, or a related field; internship or co-op experience is valued
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming, including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with HMI/SCADA development and applications
  • Understanding of industrial sensors, actuators, and motor control systems
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel designs
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, including overnight travel
  • US Citizen
  • Preferred: Experience with electrical CAD software, such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN
  • Preferred: Basic programming knowledge of Python, C++, or ladder logic
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience with industrial automation projects
  • Preferred: Familiarity with robotics, motion control, and industrial communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, or PROFIBUS
