About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own the overarching strategy, performance, regulatory compliance, and user conversion for trader onboarding and identity operations
Lead end-to-end trader identity onboarding across sanctions screening, identity verification, CIP, KYC, and EDD
Directly supervise and develop a specialized Identity Operations team
Recruit, hire, train, and develop team members
Lead performance management, QA reviews, one-on-ones, coaching, and career development
Plan workforce and staffing needs, define objectives, set KPIs, and track performance metrics
Evaluate fraud risk systems, policies, and procedures to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate platform abuse
Enhance KYC/CIP capabilities and verification logic across the trader lifecycle
Analyze identity alerts, identity fraud data, and transactional signals to identify emerging risks and systemic weaknesses
Ensure compliance with AML/KYC, CIP, and OFAC sanctions requirements
Partner with Legal, Compliance, Product, Engineering, Trader Research & Analytics, and external payment processors/issuers
Drive process improvements, optimize verification workflows, and resolve complex fraud issues
Direct verification execution across Registration, Second Purchase, Payout Readiness, and Regulated Entity Onboarding

Requirements

What you’ll need

7+ years of progressive leadership experience in fintech, prop trading, digital brokerage, or regulated financial services operations
Deep hands-on expertise in Identity Operations, IDV, CIP, KYC/AML, and Sanctions frameworks
3+ years of direct experience hiring, building, and managing teams in high-volume, regulated operational environments
Demonstrated experience evaluating fraud risk systems and analyzing complex fraud data for trend identification
Experience enhancing organizational KYC and identity detection capabilities
In-depth working knowledge of AML/BSA regulations and OFAC sanctions frameworks
Proven ability to collaborate with Product & Engineering, Trader Research & Analytics, Legal Counsel, and external payment processors/issuers
Expertise in capacity planning, operational KPIs, QA reviews, technology budgets, and workforce forecasting
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Track record of motivating distributed teams asynchronously and navigating fast-paced, high-growth startup environments
