About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee daily administrative operations and support human resources functions
- Manage office supplies, equipment, and facilities
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, appointments, and events, including agendas
- Maintain organized physical and digital records and SharePoint files
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence, including email, phone calls, and mail
- Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, expense tracking, invoices, reimbursements, payments, and bank reconciliations
- Coordinate with finance partners to maintain accurate financial records
- Manage donor databases and process donations to support fundraising
- Assist with sub-grantee invoicing and reporting
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, personnel records, and staff development
- Provide administrative support to program teams and assist with program planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate logistics for events, workshops, and outreach activities
- Coordinate communications with partners, stakeholders, and the community
- Co-develop board meeting agendas, minutes, and reports with the Network Director and Board of Directors
- Support nonprofit compliance, grant applications, and reporting requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be based in California
- Minimum of 2–3 years of combined experience in nonprofit operations or comparable business administration, specifically working with tribes, Native organizations, or Native peoples
- 2- or 4-year degree or equivalent additional work experience
- Lived or work experience and strong passion for helping Native people and tribes
- Strong organizational skills
- Microsoft Suite proficiency
- Experience processing invoices and reconciling bank statements
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel occasionally throughout California
- Preferred experience with QuickBooks or SharePoint administration
- Experience with tribal, state, and federal governments
- Appreciation for Indigenous stewardship practices
- Strong written and oral communication skills
