About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the Digital & Social team across content and social engagement needs
- Ideate and produce promotional assets for TransLash’s social channels
- Develop engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Bluesky, and other platforms
- Source, schedule, and publish timely and evergreen social content
- Write social media copy and create accessible graphics under the Social Media Manager’s direction
- Maintain relationships with key partners through collaborative posts, replies, and direct messages
- Maintain a list of partner accounts for amplification with the Community Manager
- Monitor comments, replies, and direct messages and provide timely, brand-aligned responses
- Communicate across teams to support social promotion and outreach for Podcast, Films, and Articles
- Attend planning meetings to brainstorm and pitch creative social content concepts
- Serve as an organizational ambassador with partners and audiences
- Travel occasionally to cover live events
- Report to the Social Media Manager
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrated experience supporting and creating content for daily social media accounts for an agency, news, or community organization, or supporting a fast-paced media brand that produces social media on a daily basis
- Demonstrated experience creating content for or engaging with trans communities, whether through media, community work, or customer-facing roles
- Strong copywriting skills across multiple platforms
- Fluency in social media tools and platforms such as Canva, Later, Sprout, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Bluesky
- Regular consumption of news and social content related to and created by trans and gender non-conforming communities
- Ability to use social media trends and analytics reports to create resonant posts
- Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Experience proactively managing multiple projects from inception through execution and reporting
- Ability to work independently and willingness to learn and develop new skills
- Adaptability to changing workflows and processes
- Ability to work effectively with people from different cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives
- Intrinsic motivation, strong work ethic, and commitment to the TransLash mission
- Willingness and availability to travel occasionally to cover live events
- Availability during core local business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), plus occasional evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift 15 pounds at a time
- Relevant work samples: one to three examples each of social media graphics and social media captions or copy
