About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the month-end reporting process
  • Take responsibility for accurate and timely submission of monthly General Ledger figures and Key Performance Indicators using Hyperion Essbase
  • Prepare monthly financial data for senior managers, including variance analysis to budget and latest forecasts, new business written, margin calculations, and current provision levels
  • Drive best practice for cost management
  • Manage monthly Cost Centre reporting with variance analysis
  • Assist budget holders in monitoring and controlling overhead expenditure, including project costs
  • Calculate the Residual Value provision
  • Ensure external reporting requirements are met, including Finance and Leasing Association and National Statistics reporting
  • Suggest improvements to department processes and procedures, including report development and continuous improvement
  • Participate in ad hoc projects
  • Support or deputise for the Senior Manager, Management Accounting
  • Manage company overheads
  • Coach the direct report through regular meetings to optimise team performance

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven management accounting experience, including month end reporting, working with >£500m asset base, reporting to foreign parents, budgeting and forecasting
  • High level of commercial awareness
  • Business partnering experience
  • Strong cost control
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly advanced Excel and Power BI
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including confidence in presenting
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated and proactive worker
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of staff, key stakeholders, and external partners
  • Team-oriented
