About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead strategic planning, coordination, execution, and performance management for Diversified Markets events
  • Manage a portfolio of 6–8 high-visibility events annually, including customer summits, customer advisory boards, and B2B tradeshows
  • Provide on-site oversight for planning milestones, rehearsals, venue readiness, and live event delivery
  • Coach and support a team of 2–4 event professionals through virtual, in-office, and on-site collaboration
  • Partner with marketing, sales, product, leadership, procurement, finance, and legal stakeholders in a matrixed environment
  • Balance strategic objectives and tactical delivery across multiple concurrent events
  • Conduct venue walk-throughs, vendor meetings, and logistical reviews
  • Serve as primary on-site decision-maker, managing issues and escalations in real time
  • Contribute directly to event execution while leading event strategy, team performance, and delivery outcomes
  • Work flexible and extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends, based on event schedules
  • Report to the Director, Event Management & Experiences

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, hospitality, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • 7+ years experience planning and executing complex B2B events
  • Experience with large-scale trade shows, proprietary customer events, executive programs, or customer advisory boards
  • People leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, developing, and managing event professionals
  • Strong working knowledge of end-to-end event management, including strategy, budgeting, sourcing, contracting, production, attendee experience, risk management, on-site operations, and post-event measurement
  • Experience partnering with marketing, sales, product, procurement, finance, legal, and senior leaders in a complex, matrixed organization
  • Executive presence and strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence decisions, manage expectations, and tailor recommendations for different audiences
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen
  • Experience managing event budgets, negotiating with agencies and vendors, controlling scope, and identifying cost efficiencies
  • Ability to translate business objectives into event strategies, success measures, and actionable recommendations using attendee insights, performance data, and ROI indicators
  • Excellent judgment and composure under pressure
  • Track record of resolving issues, managing escalations, and making sound decisions during live events
  • Ability to travel 25%
  • Experience with Cvent or comparable event management platforms is preferred
  • Familiarity with project management and collaboration tools is beneficial
  • Experience leading agency, production, exhibit, venue, and other event vendor relationships across multiple programs is preferred
  • Experience developing event portfolio recommendations and advising business partners on investment is preferred
  • CMP, CMM, DES, or another relevant event industry credential is a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States full-time without employer support or sponsorship now or in the future
