About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform standard duties using developed procedures on assignments of moderate complexity
- Pre-quote and post-bind underwriting activities by account
- Bill, assemble, and distribute Bond products according to procedural guidelines
- Book and issue policies
- Understand policy documents and solicitation requirements
- Pre-populate workbooks with available financial and other data
- Pull prospect lists and scrub and distribute new business leads to underwriting teams
- Assist in Polaris training of new underwriters
- Process new business, renewals, extended time and/or warranty provisions, joint ventures, co-sureties, and deviated commission scales
- Pull credit, Guidestar, Westlaw, and ERISA reports
- Manage Final Contract Price report process through final closeout and process over/under run premiums
- Assist in audits and set up QAP forms and action plans
- Process cancellations, mid-term changes, and surety riders
- Follow up on non-pays and review delinquent and past-due obligations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or one year of work experience
- Typically 2 or more years of experience in the Insurance industry
- Strong preference for individuals with Surety experience
- Intermediate understanding of insurance terms and Underwriting instructions
- Basic communication skills and effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills
- Intermediate customer focus and ability to provide service excellence to internal or external clients
- Basic MS Office applications skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to learn computer systems
- Basic software skills required (Windows MS Office)
