About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage auto physical damage claims from first notice of loss through resolution and settlement
  • Handle low to moderate complexity cases, including total loss evaluations and vehicle repair oversight
  • Evaluate policy terms, conditions, exclusions, coverage, liability, and damage
  • Negotiate equitable settlements within authority
  • Coordinate with appraisal teams and repair facilities
  • Investigate claims, gather facts, document findings, and maintain accurate claim records
  • Determine settlement amounts and communicate settlements to insureds and claimants
  • Write denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other claim correspondence as appropriate
  • Provide timely and professional communication to customers, representatives, and internal stakeholders
  • Adapt to technology implementations, system upgrades, and AI-related digital tool rollouts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Two years of auto claim handling experience
  • One year auto claim handling experience or comparable claim experience, or successful completion of Travelers Auto Claim Representative training program
  • Active adjuster license, where applicable
  • Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) within three months of starting the job
  • Proficient in claims management systems
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and enterprise technology systems and platforms
  • Basic understanding of insurance principles and terminology, state insurance regulations, and claim handling requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage stress and difficult situations while maintaining professionalism
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions
