About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Participate in structured training classes covering insurance policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures
- Assess coverage to determine compensability
- Investigate claims by gathering information from policyholders, claimants, and witnesses
- Partner with resources to obtain evidence and assess claims for potential fraud
- Establish claim reserves, determine claim resolution amounts, and issue accurate payments
- Develop and execute action plans for claim resolution
- Communicate claim status to all parties, including business customers
- Maintain accurate claim activity records in claim management systems
- Adapt to new workflows, technology implementations, system upgrades, and digital tool rollouts
- Manage personal and business insurance damage claims involving automobiles, heavy equipment, mobile equipment, and property damage
- Acquire and maintain relevant insurance licenses
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree
- High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience
- Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance
- Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law
- Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) within three months of starting the job
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willingness to learn claims management
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisions within established authority
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Basic conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated openness to continuous learning
