About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Consult with and advise employees on eligibility, provisions, and other matters related to leave of absence for the US, Canada, Ireland, and UK
- Respond to Employee Services Unit call center cases by email or phone and support other Human Resources departments on leave-related issues
- Collaborate with Employee Relations, HR Business Partners, managers, employees, Legal Services, Benefits, Employee Services Unit, Workers Compensation, and other functional areas on complex leave issues
- Review and maintain international process documentation with the manager and Benefits team
- Perform complex leave and pay-related calculations and international billing
- Create and distribute employee eligibility and determination notices for all leave types while ensuring federal and state compliance
- Complete daily audits for the LOA team and recommend improved processes and cost-saving measures
- Update and document LOA-related administrative processes
- Review medical documentation to evaluate and determine approval periods for family medical leave requests
- Ensure US and international reports are completed accurately and on time
- Support LOA managers and team members and perform other assigned LOA duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s and/or associate degree or equivalent
- Three or more years of benefits or Leave of Absence experience
- Two years of benefits, leave of absence, or case management experience, including communicating benefits plan details with employees
- Experience managing leaves of absence
- Experience using benefits administration software and Workday
- Customer service orientation and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Results-driven, excellent organization, and prioritization skills
- Excel, Word, and related software package skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask with competing priorities
- Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to analyze information and make timely, practical decisions and recommendations
- Ability to understand complex payroll calculations and how system interactions impact pay
- Ability to work well in a team environment, establish and maintain effective working relationships, maintain high ethical standards, and maintain confidentiality
- CEBS exams and designations a plus
