Key responsibilities & impact
  • Implement actuarial and statistical techniques and analyses, including reserving, rate making, pricing, planning/forecasting, project management, and research
  • Execute strategic and operational initiatives and drive change within the assigned unit
  • Provide analytical insights and recommendations to leadership and business partners
  • Share ownership of business financial results
  • Lead initiatives to modernize and transform data, tools, and processes
  • Explore and leverage modern technologies within and outside the Actuarial Product Cross-Lines Initiatives team
  • Assess, prioritize, influence, and communicate strategic initiative options to senior leaders
  • Execute assigned strategic initiatives and projects
  • Generate process improvements and identify opportunities for innovation
  • Independently perform actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems
  • Drive day-to-day execution and support department and enterprise initiatives
  • Provide direction and review others' analytical work
  • Translate business requests into analytical solutions
  • Communicate analyses, project results, and business initiatives to varied audiences
  • Lead group discussions and create formal written communications such as memos and presentations
  • Lead a small team of direct reports and potentially matrixed reports
  • Manage, develop, assess, and retain talent
  • Conduct performance management, succession planning, onboarding, mentoring, and training support

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • College degree in STEM related field
  • Associate Actuarial Credential
  • 4 years of experience performing quantitative analysis
  • 7+ years of quantitative analysis experience stated for the ideal candidate
  • Strong understanding of insurance products and industry
  • Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts
  • Management experience
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to present and translate complex information into relevant business terms
  • Strong PC skills, including MS Office
  • Programming skills, such as SQL and SAS
