About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, organize, direct, and control Desktop Services support and project initiatives within the designated region
  • Determine the strategic direction for services and functions performed by regional staff
  • Control processes, training, and support tools
  • Manage operational and human resource functions for assigned regional staff
  • Manage travel, overtime, and regional expenses
  • Participate in organizational and technical decisions affecting service availability, integrity, performance, and timeliness
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with customers and corporate IT areas
  • Direct Desktop Services activities to reduce potential impact on corporate profitability and support expense reduction efforts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5 or more years of customer-facing end-user Technology support experience
  • 5 years of experience managing technical teams
  • Conceptual knowledge of current voice and data technologies within Travelers
  • Thorough understanding of the business environment and the impact of technology decisions on that environment
  • Solid understanding of corporate human resource policies and procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
  • Solid understanding and accountability of the impact of decisions on business customers and the corporation
  • Ability to adjust priorities dynamically in response to business changes
  • At least 3 years of customer-facing end-user Technology support experience
  • Previous managerial experience
  • Active Driver's License
