About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide design expertise and leadership within the Management Liability Value Stream
  • Contribute to experience vision and strategy
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, data, business, end users, technology partners, and outside partners
  • Lead research and design of products and services, including journeys, information architecture, scenarios, personas, interactions, content, and visuals
  • Plan and execute mixed-method user research and usability testing
  • Lead synthesis and insights generation; analyze and communicate recommendations to stakeholders
  • Advocate for research findings to inform strategic decisions
  • Guide collaborative human-centered design activities
  • Communicate design direction and rationale and support prioritization
  • Apply accessibility and inclusive design principles
  • Apply Travelers Design System and Agile methodology
  • Identify opportunities to improve experiences and modernize legacy systems with AI-driven enhancements
  • Contribute to improved tools, methods, and processes within the Experience Design practice
  • Ensure design work aligns with brand guidelines and quality standards
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects across platforms and initiatives
  • Stay current on experience design trends, especially AI-powered product design
  • Participate in Experience Design Community events and share knowledge
  • Continuously learn and pursue personal development
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Five years of related experience
  • Solid experience in UX/experience design, including research, strategy, and end-to-end delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across legacy and modern systems
  • Strong design thinking in complex, multi-channel, multi-platform environments
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities
  • Interest and experience designing AI-powered or AI-augmented product experiences
  • Strong communication and stakeholder presentation skills
  • Knowledge of AI-enabled product design
  • Proficiency in at least three of: design research, information architecture, interaction design, visual design, service design, presentation and communication, collaboration and facilitation, prototyping, accessibility, WCAG 2.1
  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience
  • Four years of related experience
  • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing tools such as Axe and screen readers
  • Knowledge of WCAG and Travelers Digital Accessibility Policy
  • Experience with Agile methodology, Travelers Design System, and Human-Centered Design Double Diamond approach
