Key responsibilities & impact

Develop strategies to promote effective data governance practices
Measure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability
Consult with business partners on data management, governance, metadata policies, standards, and best practices
Develop and own project timelines and plans
Analyze customer requests for changes to data management tools and production systems
Govern data availability, usability, integrity, security, and privacy
Collaborate on the design, development, and implementation of governance practices, roles, and responsibilities
Develop procedures, processes, and remediation plans to assure data quality
Perform complex data profiling and analysis and communicate results
Recommend, develop, maintain, and prioritize business data quality requirements, specifications, and rules
Define metadata repository, data catalog, reference data management, and data lineage capabilities
Ensure naming definitions and standards are followed
Facilitate root cause analysis and resolution of data management issues
Apply knowledge of data models, relationships, mapping lineage, and business rules to deliver operationally appropriate solutions
Leverage tools, processes, and workflows to capture knowledge and maintain information relevance
Design, maintain, and govern taxonomies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree or three years of relevant data and analytics, and/or data management experience
Prior experience with ETL / Data Integration tools
Experience with one or more data platforms
Experience with Cloud Computing Technologies and related emerging technology
Experience with one or more of SQL, Teradata, Python, Hive, MicroStrategy, Ab Initio, Messaging, and NoSQL
Understanding of metadata management, lineage, and cataloging
Ability to consult on projects and present information effectively
Strategic thinking and judgment to resolve issues
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external partners
Time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Leadership skills with ability to manage a team and provide strategic direction
Thorough understanding of physical and logical data models, data relationships, mapping, lineage, and business rules
Knowledge of data models, data relationships, mapping lineage, and business rules
