About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define architecture within one or more segments or domains for a business unit
Design and implement scalable, production-grade AI solutions aligned to business needs
Advance enterprise AI solutions architecture through reusable patterns, reference architectures, and design standards
Translate business requirements into AI platform designs spanning LLM integration, RAG pipelines, memory systems, and tool/function calling
Support governance and risk processes for safe and compliant AI deployments
Monitor AI platform, foundation model, agentic framework, and cloud AI service developments
Collaborate with engineering, product, technology, and business teams
Define and lead technology proofs of concept
Conduct hands-on prototyping and technology proofs of concept
Drive continuous technology transformation and minimize technical debt
Align proof-of-technology execution with leadership and technology direction
Define target-state architecture and roadmaps
Support technology modernization initiatives
Communicate architectural direction and secure stakeholder buy-in
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent education and/or work experience
6 additional years of architecture/software engineering experience
8 years of architecture experience stated for the ideal candidate
Hands-on experience in AI/ML development and deployment
Working knowledge of core ML algorithms and neural network architectures
Familiarity with MLOps, AIOps, and CI/CD for AI/ML workflows
Applied experience with generative AI, LLMs, transformer architectures, and prompt engineering
Experience with Claude Enterprise/CLI/Code, OpenAI Codex, and GitHub Copilot
Experience with tool use, function calling, RAG pipelines, memory systems, vector databases, and multi-agent orchestration
Familiarity with LangChain, Strands, Crew AI, and MCP
Experience with AWS Bedrock including AgentCore; Azure Foundry/Agent 365 or GCP/Gemini AI optional
Working knowledge of responsible AI, AI ethics, and production AI compliance
Awareness of AI governance and risk management frameworks
Strong architecture and recent hands-on engineering experience with modern technologies
Experience architecting large-scale technology initiatives
Advanced leadership and influencing skills
Extensive experience working in an agile operational model
Experience supporting transformational change
Insurance technology experience preferred
Strong knowledge of the insurance industry
Knowledge of value creation and business capability models
Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
