About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Oversee strategies and policies for effective data governance
  • Ensure data availability, usability, integrity, security, and privacy
  • Collaborate with partners on the design, development, and implementation of governance practices, roles, and responsibilities
  • Develop procedures, processes, and remediation plans to assure data quality
  • Consult with enterprise leadership to prioritize data quality requirements, specifications, and rules
  • Ensure business customers follow appropriate naming definitions and standards
  • Provide vision for metadata repositories, data catalogs, reference data management, and data lineage capabilities
  • Oversee root cause analysis and resolution of business data issues
  • Create strategic frameworks for business solutions using data management knowledge
  • Design processes and workflows to capture knowledge and maintain its relevance
  • Articulate and influence guiding principles and frameworks aligned with strategic vision
  • Oversee creation, maintenance, and governance of taxonomies
  • Oversee portfolios and align resources for projects, enhancements, initiatives, and problem resolution
  • Coach team members on complex data profiling and analysis and communicate results
  • Set priorities, assign work, and coach team members in an agile model

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or six years of relevant data and analytics, and/or data management experience
  • Excellent ability to use and coach others on ETL / Data Integration tools
  • Experience with one or more data platforms and Cloud Computing Technologies
  • Experience with one or more of SQL, Teradata, Python, Hive, MicroStrategy, Ab Initio, Messaging, and NoSQL
  • Understanding of metadata management, lineage, and cataloging
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to consult, present, and influence effectively at all seniority levels
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to understand business goals and identify best practices
  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Advanced leadership skills, including coaching and developing team members and strategically aligning resources
  • Advanced understanding of emerging trends and new technologies in knowledge management
  • Advanced understanding of physical and logical data models, data relationships, mapping, lineage, and business rules
