About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide actuarial support for the Professional Liability Business Unit
- Develop rate plans and provide analytic insights to support business strategy
- Assess coverage profitability through rate adequacy analysis, rate reviews, and ad hoc analysis
- Prepare rate filings and analyses supporting strategy implementation
- Partner with underwriting, Product Management, and Business Unit stakeholders
- Collaborate with Research & Development, Business Intelligence & Analytics, IT, Regulatory, and Reserving
- Lead strategic planning and manage execution of strategic initiatives and projects
- Develop solutions to resolve initiative challenges
- Propose process improvements and innovation
- Independently perform actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems
- Drive day-to-day execution within the unit and support department initiatives
- Provide direction and review others' analytical work
- Translate business requests into analytical solutions
- Communicate analyses, project results, and initiatives to staff, peers, and business partners
- Communicate technical topics to non-technical audiences
- Participate in and lead group discussions
- Create formal written communications such as memos or presentations
- Manage 1 to 2 individual contributors or interns as assigned
- Support talent acquisition, development, performance management, onboarding, training, and recruiting efforts
- Mentor less experienced talent across the Enterprise
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- College degree in STEM related field
- Associate Actuarial Credential
- Strong PC skills, including MS Office
- Programming skills such as SQL and SAS
- 5+ years of quantitative analysis experience
- Strong understanding of insurance products and industry
- Demonstrated ability in actuarial and quantitative analysis and statistical concepts
- Management experience
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in quantitative analysis
