About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own the end-to-end earned media and public relations strategy to drive brand visibility in the insurance and small business sectors.
  • Optimize PR content and placement strategy to increase Simply Business citations in LLMs and AI-driven summaries.
  • Develop and lead response plans for brand reputation issues and social media or earned-media crises.
  • Lead and manage the external PR agency, including KPIs, budgets, and integrated results.
  • Design and execute a spokespeople strategy to maximize executive impact across press, speaking engagements, and social channels.
  • Develop executive content, including press releases, contributed articles, and keynote presentations.
  • Collaborate with the Content Lead to align executive communications with brand narrative and go-to-market strategy.
  • Create and manage a strategic storytelling calendar for media and industry stakeholders.
  • Cultivate relationships with journalists, industry analysts, and media partners in the insurance sector.
  • Own strategic direction and daily execution of brand social media accounts, including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
  • Oversee community engagement, social listening, and real-time responses in partnership with Customer Service.
  • Track and report PR and social media metrics, including Share of Voice, engagement, and referral traffic.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Proven success in developing and executing integrated PR/Social strategies, specifically within the B2B, FinTech, or Financial Services space.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills with demonstrated experience coaching and preparing senior leaders for external communications.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary social media platforms, content formats, and the mechanics of LLMs/AI-driven content sourcing.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-stakes communication and reputation risks in real-time.
  • Excellent skills in managing external agencies/vendors and internal cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, Product, and Creative.
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and capable of driving multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail.
