About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, prospect, and develop new multi-unit, high-volume, and strategic foodservice opportunities nationwide
  • Build relationships with owners, executives, operators, purchasing leaders, culinary leaders, developers, and other key decision makers
  • Understand customer needs and identify opportunities for foodservice equipment, supplies, and related solutions
  • Research organizations, emerging chains, multi-unit operators, hospitality groups, healthcare systems, senior living organizations, and other high-volume customers
  • Develop targeted account penetration strategies and create new revenue streams
  • Identify upcoming openings, remodels, expansions, conversions, acquisitions, and capital projects
  • Build and maintain a qualified opportunity pipeline and advance prospects through the sales process
  • Leverage foodservice equipment, distribution, manufacturing, and related industry knowledge to develop customer solutions
  • Develop relationships with manufacturers, consultants, dealers, distributors, architects, design firms, and industry partners
  • Collaborate with sales, operations, strategic partnerships, project management, equipment specialists, and internal teams
  • Track prospecting activity and pipeline progress
  • Report on expected revenue, customer activity, and market developments
  • Meet established business development and revenue objectives
  • Report to the Vice President, Strategic Partnerships

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or related field, or equivalent military or practical experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in business development, preferably in foodservice equipment industry
  • Demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth and expanding market presence in a competitive environment
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, high-impact initiatives
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth organization and adapt to changing priorities and market conditions
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance
  • Proven track record of hunting and developing new business, preferably within foodservice equipment, foodservice distribution, or an adjacent industry
  • Strong understanding of foodservice operations, equipment, distribution channels, and buying processes
  • Ability to identify and develop multi-unit, high-volume, and strategic account opportunities
  • Experience selling to or developing relationships with senior decision makers
  • Strong prospecting, networking, relationship-building, and business development skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Results-driven focus on new customer acquisition, revenue growth, and measurable business development results
