About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Service complex medical equipment and life-saving medical devices.
  • Partner with clinical professionals on the proper use of medical equipment.
  • Secure patient information through advanced systems technologies.
  • Repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and install medical sterilization and decontamination equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical motor circuits, internal steam generators, pneumatic systems, automatic transfer systems, and loading/unloading systems.
  • Perform temperature and pressure calibrations on sterilization and decontamination equipment.
  • Travel variably depending on the primary site or region and service customer equipment.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of medical sterilization and decontamination equipment.
  • AC/DC electrical knowledge required; must be able to read and understand wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Plumbing knowledge required; must be able to read and understand piping diagrams and identify basic plumbing components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical motor circuits, internal steam generators, pneumatic systems, automatic transfer systems, and loading/unloading systems.
  • Ability to sweat copper pipe and create flare and swage connections.
  • Ability to use and understand the operation of a digital multi-meter and amp meter.
  • Ability to perform temperature and pressure calibrations on sterilization and decontamination equipment.
  • Ability to verbally explain gravity, pre-vacuum, and liquid sterilization cycles; biological indicators; sterilization integrators; and Sterile Processing Department (SPD) instrument flow.
  • Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Associate degree in a technical/electronics field, equivalent military training, or relevant experience required (2+ years).
  • Ability to routinely employ fine motor skills during installation, servicing, and maintenance of sterilization and decontamination equipment.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, climb, balance, or otherwise maneuver while servicing and repairing equipment.
  • Ability to operate tools and machinery using hand and/or foot controls, including drills, saws, and electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license required; variable travel may require use of a personal vehicle.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and networking applications required.
