About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership for planning, organizing, directing, monitoring, and evaluating safe, high-quality patient care across the continuum
  • Advance clinical practice and patient care consistent with the ANA Scope of Practice and ANCC Magnet Standards
  • Participate as a full member of the Regional Health Ministry senior leadership team
  • Lead strategic planning, execution, change management, and organizational decision-making
  • Develop and implement nursing mission, vision, values, goals, standards of care, and operating plans
  • Collaborate on operating and capital budgets
  • Develop performance measures and evaluation methods covering budget and productivity targets
  • Develop staffing plans, education, and required competencies for safe, high-quality patient care
  • Lead recruitment, retention, development, succession planning, and engagement of patient care associates and leaders
  • Promote shared leadership and decision-making
  • Evaluate, select, and integrate health care technology and information systems
  • Direct evidence-based programs to measure, analyze, and continuously improve patient safety and quality
  • Ensure compliance with licensing, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
  • Communicate achievements and concerns to senior leaders, medical staff, board, and stakeholders
  • Participate in regional decision-making and workgroups and lead improvement changes within the Regional Health Ministry
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Trinity Health policies and standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • State Registered Nursing license
  • Master’s degree-level education required
  • Either the Bachelor degree or the Master degree must be in Nursing
  • Doctoral education preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years executive/director level leadership experience in patient care in an acute care setting
  • Advanced knowledge of professional nursing practice in an executive or specialty practice area, evidenced through certification (e.g., CENP, NEA-BC, FACHE, etc.)
  • Certification required within 18 months of hire
  • Member of a professional nursing organization
  • Thorough understanding of the Electronic Medical Record, clinical informatics, and advanced health care technologies
  • Thorough understanding of the health care environment and applicable laws and regulations
  • In-depth knowledge of systems thinking, change leadership, shared governance, matrix reporting, continuous improvement, process excellence, and financial and productivity management
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with administrative and health care teams
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret clinical, quality, and financial data
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Ability to use evidence-based leadership/practice and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must adapt to frequently changing work priorities
  • Must be able to travel as needed to various Trinity Health sites
