Lead Accountant
Trinity Health. Develop and maintain accurate financial information for assigned general ledger areas .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and maintain accurate financial information for assigned general ledger areas
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts and financial statements for the Health Ministry
- Apply problem-solving skills to healthcare financial operations and understand GAAP, regulatory reporting requirements, and IRS regulations
- Maintain awareness of new industry developments and standards
- Lead and mentor accounting staff
- Drive key accounting projects and participate as a thought leader with management
- Establish relationships with Health Ministry, Service Area, Trinity Health, and related-entity leaders
- Review financial records and financial statements
- Implement audit recommendations for areas of responsibility
- Prepare annual 990 and other tax returns and support community benefit reporting
- Prepare sales and use tax, local personal property tax, escheatment, government survey, and other reports
- Complete inter-company billing, cash transfers, and reconcile inter-company balances
- Plan and participate in staff development activities
- Partner with the Manager or Director of Finance to align financial operations with business priorities
- Support the Finance Management team with reporting, coordination, and financial operations resources
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
- Minimum five (5) to seven (7) plus years’ experience
- Experience working with various computer accounting systems
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite
- Working knowledge of applicable Federal, state, and local laws/regulations
- Working knowledge of Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program and Code of Conduct
- CPA and healthcare exposure preferred, but not required
- Treasury Accounting experience preferred, but not required
