About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide therapeutic nursing interventions, including medical history and present illness
- Care for patients from newborn to geriatric age groups
- Administer medications and vaccines after completing on-site training
- Assist with procedures and perform point-of-care testing
- Document care using the EPIC electronic health record system
- Collaborate with registered nurses, medical assistants, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Ensure quality nursing care in accordance with the New York Nurse Practice Act, National Standards of Practice, and nursing and clinical service standards
- Provide direct care to patients and families using the Nursing Process
- Follow Preventive Medicine Guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation from an accredited school for Licensed Practical Nursing
- Current licensure in the State of New York
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Participation in orientation and continuing education
- Ability to maintain knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise
- Ability to care for patients from newborn to geriatric age group
- Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, squat, and reach
