About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Set up rooms and prepare patients
- Take manual and electronic vital signs
- Perform EKGs
- Draw blood and administer injections and immunizations
- Perform point-of-care testing
- Apply pharmacology knowledge
- Perform administrative duties
- May perform or assist with in-office procedures and treatments
- Facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience
- Deliver patient care under the direction of licensed clinical professionals in a clinic or practice environment

Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of an accredited/approved MA program and MA externship, MA internship, EMT, or Paramedic program
- Preferred certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA); American Medical Technologists (RMA); National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA); National Healthcareer Association (CCMA); National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA); American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
- In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, 2+ years clinical experience providing clinical support in a community-based clinic
- Subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills when qualifying through clinical experience
- Preferred: new graduate or 1 or more years of previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
