About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide comprehensive patient care including specialized ophthalmic testing, triage and patient teaching
- Perform basic and routine eye examination procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases and problems
- Explain diagnostic and treatment procedures to patients
- Work Monday through Friday on the day shift
- Travel from the main Maywood location to Burr Ridge, Hickory Hills, and Oakbrook Terrace as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Associates Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
- Ophthalmic Technician Program
- Less than one year of previous job-related experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in manual refraction and applanation tonometry
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Unable to sponsor an employment visa
- After graduation from an ophthalmic technician education course, required to become certified ophthalmic assistants within the first year of employment
